When there are a horde of directors who have been raising voices for the Lankan Tamils, here’s one filmmaker who is extending a helping hand silently. This is none other than director-actor M Sasikumar, who has been helping many displaced Lankans, without much ado.

The director, instead of handing over monetary support, has decided to help them with clothes. And for this, he has used all the costumes used in his earlier production ventures, ‘Subramaniapuram’ and ‘Pasanga’. The clothes used by all artistes for these films have been distributed to the homeless Lankan Tamils. Apart from these, he has also arranged for new clothes to be sent for them in Sri Lanka.

Ask him on his decision to do this and he says this was after he heard someone say it wasn’t just food that the people there were suffering from. Many had lost their homes to attacks by the army, thereby leaving them with no clothes to change to. Wishing to help in this, the director has offered help. Well done, Sasikumar!
